Where the codes come from
Clippy lists codes and deals from the affiliate networks it has joined and from a licensed coupon data partner. Links to these stores may earn Clippy a commission. Clippy doesn't scrape coupon sites and never makes up codes. A store gets a page here only while Clippy has a current code for it.
How often the codes are refreshed
Clippy refreshes its codes every morning at about 4:15 AM ET. Each store page shows when its codes were last refreshed. Offers that end are removed when the page is served, even between refreshes.
What Clippy leaves out
- Offers that have ended, haven't started yet, or name a date or sale that has already passed.
- Offers with made-up far-future end dates, unless they're brand new. Clippy shows “End date not provided by store” instead of a fake date.
- Offers aimed at other countries, priced in other currencies or written in other languages. These pages cover US shoppers.
- Duplicate codes, which are collapsed into one.
- Codes people have reported as failing: 3 or more “didn't work” reports and no successes in 7 days.
- Codes more than 60 days old when the store gave no real end date. Stores often keep an old code listed long after it stopped working.
Reporting a code
Every offer has “Did this code work?” buttons. Tapping one sends only that offer's ID and your answer, anonymously, with no account or cart details. Reports are rate-limited, and codes that keep failing drop out.
Who runs Clippy and how it makes money
Clippy Mc Clipface is run by Matt Lucero. Some shopping links are affiliate links: if you buy after following one, Clippy may earn a commission at no added cost to you. Every shopping link on these pages carries this line: “This shopping link may earn Clippy a commission at no added cost to you.” Clippy never hides a better untracked offer below a tracked one.
